Hotel Borobudur Inter-Continental reopened in Jakarta early in November after 22 months of renovation and redesign. The US$65 million overhaul of the five-star hotel encompassed all 674 rooms and public areas. The 19-storey hotel on 9.3 hectares of land was originally opened in 1974 to accommodate participants in the Pacific Asia Travel Association conference. Now, conference and banqueting facilities can accommodate up to 8,000.
