Flying firsts

PAL: From December 2, three additional flights per week Manila-Los Angeles. From December 8 to January 14, 2000 an additional three flights weekly Manila-San Francisco. Three new non-stop flights Manila-Osaka from December 3, making the total seven per week. Added capacity Manila-Riyadh and Manila-Dammam of 84 seats weekly between December 7 and January 15, 2000.

EMIRATES: New service Dubai-Nairobi-Entebbe (Uganda) starting March 29, 2000. Three flights a week, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

PAL-KUWAIT AIRWAYS: PAL flights Manila-Bangkok will be code-shared with Kuwait Airways' five-day-a-week Manila-Bangkok-Kuwait service. This new arrangement signals the first PAL flights to Bangkok in 17 months.

AIR NEW ZEALAND: Additional Friday evening flight Hong Kong-Auckland, arrives 11:30 am Saturday, local time. Effective November 19, 1999.

KOREAN AIR: Two new routes, now in effect. Hong Kong-Cheju twice a week. Also, Seoul-Cairo re-opened after suspension since May 1998. Twice-weekly departures.

AIR MACAU: From November 3 1999, Macau-Guilin three times a week, and Macau-Seoul twice weekly.

NORTHWEST AIRLINES: Increased service to four times a week Detroit-Nagoya since December 1.

AIR FRANCE-CHINA EASTERN AIRLINES: Starting January 7, 2000 AF and MU will codeshare Shanghai-Paris (CDG2). AF will offer four direct flights per week, including one codeshare. MU will offer five per week outbound, with one codeshare, and six inbound, two of which will be codeshared.
