MALAYSIA: The government has extended until 2001 the income tax exemption given to tour companies which handle at least 500 foreign tourists or 1,200 domestic tourists a year.
SKAL's new man at the helm
GERMANY: Association of International Skal Clubs (AISC) elected Richard Hawkins of Singapore as its new president for a term of one year at the 60th annual World Congress in Stuttgart.
Hawkins, who replaces past president Antonio Espinosa, said his focus this year will be to address declining membership, boost the organisation's professional image, determine potential membership and address the association's needs in terms of young members.
Director Tony Clegg-Butt was elected vice president, replacing Hawkins on the executive committee.
