No less than eight separate services are involved in the agreement, which is recognised by the industry as one of the biggest ever put together between two Asian carriers.
The new initiative will give both lines improved inroads and coverage - to and from Taiwan - in Southeast Asian markets, as well as Vietnam, Japan and Korea.
No exact number of slots has been identified in these deals, but in terms of service and market coverage, they reflect significant volume increases in the intra-Asia trade sector.
Uniglory is to take slots on three Yang Ming services: the Korean and Taiwan service, as well as both Asian strings operated under KTM, PAS and PAS2 respectively.
All services are fixed-day weekly. On the KTM service, Uniglory will have slots between Ulsan, Pusan, Keelung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang and back northbound.
On the PAS1 service, Uniglory will have slots to cover Korea, Taiwan, Philippines and Indonesia. The service is operated by Yang Ming and Cheng Lie.
The PAS2 service will offer increased coverage of the Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia trades through slots linking Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Laem Chabang.
In addition, Yang Ming will have slots on five Uniglory services, increasing coverage of the entire intra-Asian marketplace. Yang Ming will takes slots on Uniglory's "E" service.
